OTG usb flash drives become more popular

Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones—Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra—lack a microSD card slot, but that doesn’t mean you can’t expand the storage space. The South Korean firm has released its new flash drives that can be easily attached to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop PCs for data storage and moving files from one device to another.
The company has launched its new USB Type-C flash drives, available in 64GB (MUF-64DA), 128GB (MUF-128DA), and 256GB (MUF-256DA) versions, featuring Samsung’s own NAND flash chips and USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity (backward compatible with USB 2.0). The company is promising up to 400MB/s sequential read speeds with its new flash drives. That’s quick enough to swiftly transfer hundreds of images or 4K/8K video files within a matter of seconds.
While the OTG usb flash drives looks simple enough, the plastic casing does give some customers pause. It feels a bit flimsy, and someone worried that it may crack eventually, depending on where you store it and how you transport it when not in use. Personally, I’d like to see a bit of a thicker/higher quality shell, even if it increased the price a bit.
For the most part, OTG usb flash drives is pretty easy to use. Simply slide out the connector you need and plug it into your phone or computer. That being said, once it’s plugged into your phone, you may run into some issues. For example, the Google Files app on the Pixel 5 didn’t seem to let me copy to the flash drive, yet the generic Files app did. It was easy enough to figure out but wasn’t as seamless as it should be. That’s not necessarily the fault of the drive, but it is something to keep in mind. However, on a couple of other devices, the built-in file apps made it easy to copy to and from the drive. On the PC, I encountered no issues as the computer recognizes it as an external drive, as it should.
USB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive is capable of read/write speeds of up to 80MB/s. The packaging also indicates that the write speed may be lower. We can ran it through a few programs on a computer to check read/write speeds.
